Virginia Tech

I know we have had an overload in the news about the Virginia Tech incident but I just wanted to say my two cents. I don't understand why people are making a big deal that the killer is Korean. I mean yeah it is shocking to the Korean community because you don't really hear much about Koreans committing crimes but for the President of Korea to send an apologetic letter to the US State Department is ridiculous. This was not a government-related/political act nor should this incident affect US/Korea relations. Don't get me wrong, I was pretty shocked that he was Korean too but he was basically a Korean American. He lived in the States for 15 years. Why should race even be an issue. Obviously this guy was crazy but his motives were not related to race. My pastor's sister and her husband go to Virginia Tech or live in Blackburg, VA, I forgot which one but supposedly they cannot come out of their house because people are saying stuff to them because they are Korean. That is just ridiculous. The reasoning for that is probably because that area is pretty rural and homogenous but for people to link every korean to this psycho is just absurd. Regardless of what color the killer was, black, hispanic, white, green, or blue, it's still a heinous act. We need to concentrate on the victims, their families and the Virginia Tech community. Let's continue to pray for all of those affected by this tragedy.
